Google Work From Home Kit Review- The King Of All Scams?
Among all the scams we’ve seen, heard and read about; this one is quite possibly the worst of the bunch.
Google Work From Home Kit is not just one company. In fact, there are several variations in this type of scheme but they all have the same system and mechanism.
WHAT IS IT?
Marketing companies would advertise Google’s need for employees working at home. But how do they get the word out? First off, they paste Google’s logo prominently in all the ads – may it be through emails or pop-up windows. Next, others means of persuading people will come in the form of including the phrases “as seen on” and they’d mention big names such as CNN or ABC. Lastly, the most unbelievable method they use to get creative in luring victims is by creating a site with a home page that looks like other reliable news websites. Yes, they resorted to making their own fake online newspapers.
The news will be about the jobs, of course. It will focus on Google’s alleged recent program that will hire thousands of work-at-home employees. There will also be the job description and even photos of Google’s CEO that looks like he’s conducting a press conference regarding the said program. But the thing is, like the page itself, it’s all fake. They probably just grabbed the photo from one of his old conferences.
So how do they get the money? It’s this easy.
After advertising the “job posts” along with fake stories and testimonials of those who claimed outrageous income by working for Google, they would then ask for an upfront payment so the victim can gain access to an exclusive portal for members. Depending on that specific company, some would also offer DVD and an additional fee for shipping and handling. This DVD will further explain what needs to be done to join the program and start earning.
Unfortunately, this is what happens.
The fee is normally two bucks which is why most people would think that there’s no harm in trying. Besides, it’s just a measly amount. Nevertheless, there are those who received absolutely nothing while others did get their DVDs which they can’t even open because to viruses. Some would also be given an access to a website that’s completely unrelated. There are those who claimed that they were merely redirected to Google’s help center.
However, while all these may be very irritating and disappointing, the real problem begins the moment victims provide their details such as home address, credit card number and other pertinent information, and email ad. The victims then reported unauthorized charges made to their bank accounts. The amount would be anywhere between $50 and $80.
This is because, as indicated in their terms and conditions, what the buyer initially paid for is the trial period. The terms, by the way, were written in fine print and strategically placed at the bottom of the page – something that the reader may not bother looking at. After this, they will be charged with a monthly fee. And the worst part is that they will also conjure up charges for additional products or up-sells that weren’t authorized.
Most victims who sought for refunds either never received any or took a long, long while before they got their money back and it had to undergo lawsuits, mind you. And even if they already cancelled, the companies could still be pulling out funds from their accounts, as experienced by one victim.
CONCLUSION:
These scammers were all over the news and had to fight off a string of lawsuits and complaints in addition to the cases filed by Google Inc. not only for using their brand and logo but for spreading blatant lies and using the company in earning profits illegally.
Because it’s quite common for scammers to use popular brands, it’s best to verify the legitimacy by simply searching the internet. If they offer outrageous promises and exaggerated income claims, it’s best to stay away especially if they ask you to pay FIRST before you are allowed to see what their products and services really are.
