Mark Barrett sells his video course for $9.95 and it basically teaches you how to make video reviews and earn from them. You can’t really expect much for that amount but in all fairness to him, though his product isn’t the best, it’s still okay.

WHAT’S INSIDE

It’s composed of three parts but it’s for a total of only nineteen minutes. Given what we know about reviews and how they work, that doesn’t seem sufficient to cover all the salient points and other important details. However, this is aimed at beginners and those who are unable to invest a lot of time and money into this type of money-making opportunity.

HOW IT WORKS

Mark suggests the use of Google Hangouts (GH) in creating reviews. It’s free and doesn’t take hours to set up. Also, by using live GH, whenever someone searches for reviews for the affiliate product, yours will likely appear on the first page results. You also have the option of using your webcam or screen recording or both. Do what works for you.

If you believe this is what you really want to do, here are some tips in making one awesome review. Especially with lots of competition out there, you’re going to need to step up your game:

• Know your audience. I know it’s very basic that people often forget this part. Match your tone and words with who is supposedly listening to you. Don’t use technical terms if you’re talking to a newbie.
• Think of your purpose. It’s to give a review, right? Focus on it and don’t go beating around the bush. Remember, you’re NOT recording a speech. Make sure it’s concise.
• Keep it short and sweet. Sometimes, in an attempt to keep the audience interested, we might tend to stray away from the topic at hand. Resist that urge! The best way to do this is outline the features. That way, you get to cover the important parts without boring the viewers. As much as you can, don’t go beyond five minutes.

So let’s go back to Mark’s product. While I still found value in it, I have also a few issues especially with how he presented it. As a beginner, you’re likely to believe everything that you’ll hear from Mark and I do hold him responsible for providing inaccurate information and this is where he falls a bit short.

ISSUES WITH THE PRODUCT

The main reason every marketer wants to land on the first page result is this:

HIGHER RANK = MORE TRAFFIC = MORE SALES

Of course, these are all ideal. And I’ve mentioned about finding your review on the first page, right? Well, here’s the flaw: Google has divided the results into personalized and non-personalized. Try doing any search and you’ll find two icons on the upper right side. When it’s personalized or private, it’s based on your search history. So if you’ve been searching for your own review and how it fares in the results, you’re more likely to see it in the first page. You can turn off this feature and see how you really rank.

To be in the first page result is no easy task, ask any marketer. It takes time and a whole lot of effort. Because of the updates Google has rolled in, those you see on the first page are the ones deemed with authority. They didn’t get there because of the volume of keywords – that’s an old and outdated tactic. You need fresh and high quality content all the time.

VERDICT:

30 Minute Money Machine is OKAY. Success with affiliate marketing is not as easy as Mark made it seem but with enough patience, dedication and effort – you’ll get there. Just keep in mind that as a beginner, you shouldn’t just learn from one source especially if it’s faulty like this one. Tap other sources – it’s always best to learn more.
