A large number of people have built their own Internet businesses in recent years and an Internet business is often an excellent way to make money, and as the promoters like to say “in the comfort of your own home”.

About the only advantage a beginner can gain from the IM Starter pack is it will give that person some idea of what he or she needs to learn in order to set up a business. That is all to the good, except little of what is offered is new. Most of it has been around for years and most can be had for free by spending a few hours, or even just a few minutes, searching the web. You would be better off purchasing a book that gives you the same type of information, but information that is up to date and supported by recommendations and references that tell you where you can look further.

Your Chance to ‘Upgrade’

The problem with this starter pack lies in what the promoter is actually trying to do. The approach isn’t a new one at all. You purchase a product at an affordable price, or it may even be offered for free, or at a “significant discount”. As you read through the information you will eventually come across one or more suggestions to upgrade to the next level. The next level is where the really valuable information is to be found. The next level is where the “secrets” lie. The next level is the premium level and costs well over $100. If you pursue the course the promoter hopes you will you may eventually find yourself at an executive, gold, platinum or diamond level where you are paying large fees, but not making the income to compensate.

Aside from the initial price and the possibility of having to pay even more, a major criticism of this product is that it appears to have been assembled by committee. It is as if the promoter visited a used bookstore (used in this case implying the books contain outdated information), selected several books on the same subject, and sold them to you as a package. A single book that leads you down the right path is what you really should be looking for.

Only if You Love Receiving e-Mail

One feature of this product is particularly sneaky, although on the surface it does not appear to be. You are offered the opportunity to subscribe to a number of e-mails and sign in several websites once you have registered. This appears to be above-board but you will soon find yourself on multiple mailing lists and the recipient of may offers of the type that make money for others but not for you.

To really see what this product has to offer, dole out $9.95, and if you don’t like what you get ask for a refund, or ask a few questions. Customer service in this case is somewhere between laughable and non-existent.

Avoid this product. It’s a scam. Search the web for information, instead of for offers.
