Why is there a huge increase in online scams these days? Not long ago, we all read about the story of a work at home scam that was known as “Easy Google profits”. Advertisements that were circulated for this scam looked like legitimate blogs and newspaper publications, telling a story of a factious individual who recently lost a job and started working from home via this system. The article explained how people earned a lot of money by just posting links on the Google. The scam took advantage of many before Google noted and took legal action against Pacific Web Works for using the company’s name and logo to con people. Now, there is another fake work at home program, “Mary Stevens” and you need to avoid it.

I was surfing the web looking for the best URLs when I came across this article titled, “work at home moms making $8,795 a month and it’s a part-time job” as the saying goes, “when the deal is so good, think twice”. I took time to learn more about it and I found out more.

Who exactly is Mary Stevens?

Mary Stevens is a divisive name for website scams that make use of the bait of the name to post scams. It is a fake work at home scheme that uses fake stories about unreal single mothers who supposedly became financially stable with the use of the bogus business that is being peddled online. The name Mary Stevens is used so many times and each time we expose the scam, they put up another one.

The content in this scam aims at looking like a genuine blog or newspaper article coming from your hometown. Currently, the story is about Austin resident known as Kelly Richard, a mom who lost her job last year followed by an unsuccessful job hunt until she decided to work at home with this new system known as “home income profit system.” 

What makes it a scam?

There are so many things that stand out and yell SCAM! To begin with, the fact that their adverts are trying to deceive people by mimicking legitimate newspaper publications to sell their product. Secondly, as one is reading through, it is hard to get a clue as to what the so called work at home actually is. Thirdly, the fact that it is impossible to contact this company via an email or connect with them through their social networks raises many questions.

As one reads their small prints of terms and conditions, it is clear that this fake system offers a 5 day trial of their membership site for $2.97, to cover handling, shipping, and immediate access to the program. However, once the trial period is over, an individual will be charged a total fee of $139.95, and then receive a monthly pay of $39.99 for 3 months for you to gain full access training course. To be fair, the program offers a toll-free customer service number if one wants to counsel, but there are also conditions for that.

Honestly, is there a real Kelly Richard who earns $8,795 a month with the use of the so called Home Income Profit System? I doubt it! A company that tries to purposely deceive people with false advertising is not to be trusted.

My advice is, do not waste your time and money if an online job opportunity sounds too good to be true. You need to take time and do your research on the company and you will be able to avoid work at home scams such as Mary Stevens!
