Years ago, the formula for ranking high on Google and other search engines was simple. You can get help from links that will serve as “votes” to establish your authority on a certain niche. So basically it was:

More links à Higher authority à Higher rank à More traffic à More sales

Often called backlinks, this USED TO work. But eventually, Google figured out that some people are merely buying links and in so doing, doesn’t really add to their authority. They were simply upvoting themselves which defeats the purpose. This is why they trashed backlinking. Sure, you can still use this but it’s not going to do any good for your business. In fact, with all the updates, it might hurt your ranking. Thus, your sales could plummet which is contrary to what you want. These links are often tagged as spam.

So unless a certain company doesn’t care about ethics as long as they’re tricking Google, you won’t really get that many clients.

Maybe the only good thing about this is there are no usual red flags you see on other scams. Their website didn’t contain a lot of hype and the creators decided on a boring, minimalistic design. They have certification badges which are non-verifiable. We don’t even know who “verified” and “checked daily.” It’s a lame attempt at making them look legit.

Main Issues

There are things which I’m concerned about (aside from the fact that it’s a link-posting scam) and I think you should be too. The first one is checking for availability. You’re urged to view the openings because they have “limited positions.” The details they need are your name, phone number and email address. Please think twice or thrice before giving it to them because if you read the fine print below, you’ll see this:

Trust me, this is not something you’d want to get involved with. Those emails are annoying enough. Imagine your phone ringing off the hook because these boiler room people will stop at nothing to get more money off you. They’ll badger you until you change your number or give in. It’s much worse than the usual telemarketers.

Second, their refund policy states that full refund will be given 30 days after the transaction payment. That’s a reasonable amount of time BUT with companies like Online Cash Direct, they don’t last that long. Their scams get exposed and they don’t have any other choice but to take down their website. So after 30 days, chances are the company doesn’t exist anymore.

VERDICT:

Link-posting is not a good money-making tool for various reasons.

1. Google doesn’t allow backlinks anymore. Tricking them is never a good idea because you might end up getting blacklisted.
2. It takes time to earn a decent amount of commission.
3. It’s more likely that you’ll have higher expenses than earnings.
4. There’s slim chance of people clicking on your ads and an even slimmer one for those who will buy anything.
5. It’s full of hype and promises.
6. There’s no actual proof of earnings.
