Project Payday Scam- Get Paid Per Lead?

Posted by in Borderline | 26 comments

project_payday_review_As an Internet marketer, I can see why people are asking, does Project Payday scam people or not? I’m going to be completely honest with you on this one because I really don’t want to paint biased pictures of programs I know are going to make a lot of money for me if I get you to click on my affiliate link. It is really important that you know how this company operates so you can get a clearer picture as to what you would really need to do in order to make money as opposed to how “easy” they like to make it seem.

Does Project Payday Scam or Really Work?

Understand that Project Payday is a Cost Per Action type opportunity. What does this mean? CPA’s marketing is when you get people to enter an email address, generate a lead, get someone to signup to something, or really any kind of profitable “action” that can ultimately lead to a sale. It means they are going to pay you $1.50 for every lead that you generate. In other words, you are going to make money from each person who clicks on your PPD affiliate link and gives their info. Get it?

Why does Project Payday pay you to do this?

Because there are sponsoring companies that pay PPD for getting people to do these trial offers. To become an affiliate with Project Payday, you need to complete one of these offers which is most likely going to cost you money. The more people that join, the more likely people are going to participate because they joined to make money. PPD is making a killing! Does it make sense now?

When I signed up to do this, I picked the Big Fish Games which costed me $7.99. There are different offers you can choose. However, think about it. I just gave away some of my money for the opportunity to make money only if I know how to generate leads for them. Thank goodness I do. The problem is, especially if you’re a beginner, you probably don’t.

But yes, it really does work if you are experienced with affiliate marketing and Internet marketing.

So what does this mean for you? Well I can tell you right off the bat that the majority of people that join this program are not going to make a significant amount of money. The reason is because unless you are getting hundreds or maybe even thousands of leads for Project Payday, are you going to make any amount of significant income. Now depending on the conversion ratio of hits two leads, they can raise up your pay to about $2.50 per lead, but again you’re going to run into the same problem if you’re a complete beginner. Now I’m going to reveal to you a few secrets as to why a lot of people are in favor of this company.

Posting Project Payday Spam Around The Internet Is Not A Good Idea…

ppdYou will see so many promotional videos on Youtube of people trying to push Project Payday. I’ve watched countless now while creating this review, and like 95% of the Youtube testimonials sound so scripted and cheesy. Of course, the marketer doesn’t really tell you what you are going to be doing, other than “make tons of easy money by following this incredible system!”.

You get a bunch of desperate people trying to promote the same opportunity all over Youtube, and it pretty much turns into spam.

Project Payday is not some kind of data entry job, and you don’t get paid for posting your link. You get paid IF someone clicks on your link and opts in.

I see some pretty crafty clever sales pitches some people do, just to get an optin to make a whopping $1.50. It’s pretty amazing how far some people will pretty much lie, to make some money.

I did find one video of someone making lots of money, but when I further investigated who she is, it seems she is one of the owners or some kind of premier partner as I can match the voice in the video, with the woman on the actual PPD salespage. The owners or big-wigs are going to make the big bucks…just like in any company.

You are taught to post in classified ad sites…

Another tactic many people using with Project Payday is posting to classified sites. More specifically, they will advertise PPD in the “jobs” section with a posting that says something like “Make $40- $80 per hour just using your computer!” or something similar. In my opinion, this is a bit misleading. PPD is nowhere near being an actual job and unfortunately many employment seekers will be fooled by such postings and opt-in. The marketer makes a quick buck, and the job-seeker becomes really confused as to what is really going on and is a long way from making any money.

Advertising on classified sites is a whole other skill in itself. Don’t think it’s going to be that easy. You’re going to need to know some important issues such as Craigslist “ghosting” your posts if they find that too many postings are coming from 1 IP address. This means you’re going to have to invest in some tools that change your IP address every so often so you don’t get caught, and there are other marketing tools that pretty much blast many cities at once. This is just one example, but my point is, this is definitely something that takes time to learn and master. [/note]

Does Project People Scam People?

I get this question a lot. No Project Payday does not outright scam people. But I will tell you this. It’s not going to be easy to make money unless you know how to get tons of traffic! That’s the bottom line. Think about it. You make $1.50 per lead and that’s it. You’re going to need to generate 100 leads to make $150 and that’s not recurring every month.

Why I Personally Don’t Recommend It

You know what? It comes down to a few things.

Project Payday presents itself in a way that is very shady. People think they really landed on an awesome opportunity and some cases “job”, when it’s really just a CPA affiliate marketing system. The salescopy, the adcopy, everything is enticed to lure people in as if this is really “extra income for the average Joe”. The reality is, the average Joe is probably NOT going to just fly by joining this. Not even close. To make any decent amount of income here, you’ve got to know your stuff. You have to really have targeted advertising dialed in, or own a website that gets thousands and thousands of hits and promote your link. Also, you’ve got to know how to create video and “sell” on Youtube for people to join.

Not to mention the insane amount of competition from people trying to hustle this system to others.

Second, it’s all about the money. You’re going to get paid a one-time commissions of $1.50 and then you can say Sayonara! There really isn’t much of a residual opportunity where you can stack monthly commissions on top of each other, and scale out your monthly income. It’s just 1 lead and buh bye.

If I’m going to refer leads to something, I want to capitalize as much as possible and not just burn my visitors. Because honestly, that’s how a lot of Project Payday members feel…burned. I’m going to refer them to a high quality program that delivers lots of value, and make more money each month doing so.

P.S. Make sure you check out the #1 affiliate income opportunity if you're looking to make money the right way...

  1. A really good and succinct review What you offered us were facts and perspectives concerning a program you sem familiar with along with the industry it can be compared with. Though I find it appropriate that you also included an alternative program I also understand why some could feel the mesage/review loses some integrity for that but I think its fair to expect you wouldn’t miss an opportunity to capitalized any you might have “conVinced”(see what I did there) to reconsider PPD and see what your site has to offer..but even still it is tastefully done without alot of distracting counter info conflicting with subject of the article. WHat I came for is ot find out of PPD has any means of actually helping/or plugging in its members to a lead generation stream and it doesn’t appear to be the case. I’ve been trying to do this for a while now and its not as easy as it should be to do this using only 3rd party networks and not resorting to code work. I’ve heard of PPD for a long time now and I am going to find my original referral attempt or if you have one here maybe use yours, and probably join it as a means to an end of creating a network with greater variety and I will do what you seem to imply that PPD sponsors do not or don’t do enough. I’ll also check out your link as well and bookmark your article I believe it is a good resource for perspective anyone considering that program should have a chance to read a perspective like this before they get started. One thing I think PPD has going for them is buzz power and It seems they might have a good database of programs and offers to draw from to use as initial programs to join. SO it seems to me a good teambuilding sponser will join these programs and do some of the legwork of finding the good programs to use to join the PPD network for free, identifies which programs actually can be used to do what they say(trials for profit, which I don’t actually believe there are any except some which might be affiliate programs(your not gonna get PAID just referring one person in any aff program I know of there is going to be a minimum commission threshold) or PPAs themselves like Sawbucks and also provide a promotional network that kind of exposes the referral link of the new team members to a wider mor dynamic audience than they themselves can likely produce. Anyway take care good luck and thanks for the tips.

  2. Thnx a lot Vince for an honest to goodness reviews- that outlook you have of helping people. If only the government has that sense of public concern.. I dont understand why the govt agency people supervising the web tech industry tolerate these black hawks in the web, are they “affiliates” too ?

    • It’s basically the “make money online” industry they probably don’t care or have time for. Plus, there are tiny affiliate disclaimers on these programs that don’t promise success and can get away with things. It’s just a sleazy market to be honest. Most programs capitalize on desperate people looking to earn quick money. Project Payday is one of the few that is a little more transparent and honest about things. It’s just, in my opinion, not worth the time especially if you’re new at this.

      • Thanks for clearing that up. You are level headed but some of your audience I guess tends to be reactionary. Throwing the baby out with the bathwater and not rally taking the time to really actually let your words sink in.

  3. I think the gov should make these sites illegal to make money from just clicking on a link that the people are being tricked and someone should report all these linked money making sites to the gov or court.

    • Why should the government continue to overregulate the personal promotion industries and cyberspace marketing movements? Do you honestly think the paper hat and corporate mafia industries that are allowed to run rampant slashing and burning entire communities as the go,are any less corrupt than these snake oil scammers?

  4. I am seriously considering an online revenue stream and in my search PPD came up. It seemed like it was too good to be true and as I read the comments on this page and others, it is. Vince, can you HONESTLY tell me what the odds are of making a legit revenue with WA and if I follow the system how long will it be before I see substantial income?

    • that’s cute really,
” meet the new boss, same as the old boss”
      ~ the Who

  5. Funny, your review ends with click here and use mine instead!!!!

    • Yes, absolutely, Gina. WA absolutely crushes PPD in my opinion…especially when it comes to teaching people how to correctly market on the Internet. I have a vested interest in showing people the best affiliate marketing opportunity on the web, and helping them avoid the opportunity cost of going down the long, hard road of trying to make money online…especially with something that teaches them how to hustle people into some weird, CPA offer thing.

  6. Vince,

Thanks for taking the time to investigate and post. I admire your compassion to help others.

My best to your continued success,

    Dennis

    • Thanks Dennis. It’s honestly been a long road trying to help others. This is an industry plagued with very shady online programs, and I might even say that there are new ones every single day. They come and go, but some will stick around for a long while if there are enough money-hungry affiliates continuously pushing them. I think this is one of them. I could easily change my promotions on this site and recommend Project Payday and make a fast $1.50 off people all day long. That’s what’s scary. But deep down I know that there is a minimal chance of people seeing success because there is so much lacking in that program. That’s why instead, over the years I have developed a compassion of just telling the truth and trying to help others. Again, I appreciate your kind words and will continue providing valuable info to people as much as I can. I like to be fair. Not everything is bad out there, but most of the stuff is.

  7. I joined them at the end of August 2014. I am only doing the referral program. I have seen over 2 dozen youtube videos with people claiming they only do the referral program and are making 100.00s of dollars per day. That, is a bit far-fetched in my opinion. I have been doing the posting, blogging and using forums and many many classified ad sites as told and in 4 weeks, I have made a whopping 1.50

I find that the people bragging on youtube are being secretive and liars. I saw one video of a guy who claimed (using only the referral program) he made 65,000.00 in two days. Again, that’s a lie.

    • Glad you can see behind all the smoke, Edgev.

It’s all about selling hype, vague info, and really just lies.

All in the name to get people to sign up, so the affiliate makes a whopping $1.50. Pretty much a scheme.

There are definitely much better ways to create an online income.

  8. Hey Vince,

Thanks for the honest review. I was looking into joining this PPD but “redflags” kept popping up….on they’re site , they make no mention of what it is that one will do, they want your info before they tell you what they do, there is no privacy policy to speak of, etc…. Thanks again for shedding the much needed light on it.

    • Yeah. There are absolutely a lot of red flags galore. I actually haven’t visited this review in a long time. The thing is, Project Payday is still going. It’s probably one of the oldest work from home schemes out there that is still up and running. They definitely want your info. It’s all to capture leads and refer people to these affiliate networks. You know those trial offers, right? Well PPD is going to make money because sooner or later, those trial offers will convert into a sale when someone forgets to cancel their credit card subscription. That’s the whole reason why you get to earn 1 dollar per sign up.

  9. Vince, thank you for this honest and helpful review. It is the first sensible review I have come across in a long time. Thank you again. In future, if I wanted to check out a product, can I do it here?

  10. Thank you for the review, you saved me a lot of time and that is so important right now, due to I am looking for extra $$$$$.

    • Just to note, if you are still looking for extra income, always stay away from stuff like this. I know it has already been about a year since you left this comment. I just wanted to follow up and see how things are going. Although things like Project Payday seem very appealing, it’s important to understand that time is money and at the end of the day, you’re going to be spending so much time being confused on how this all really works and really only to earn a whopping $1.50 per lead. You have to know Internet marketing to make this work consistently…and that’s just the reality.

  11. project payday is not a scam!! I have been making money with their referral program for over 3 years now. I get paid every week by them. How can it be a scam if they are paying people.

    • He said ” No Project Payday does not outright scam people

      • Donna, what exactly do you have to do to get paid?

  12. Hey Vince, thanks for this review! This is probably the first unbiased review that I have seen online that didn’t try to sell me on the PPD idea. I have been seeing this program all over craigslist, forums, u name it, I have seen it somewhere. But when you google them, everybody speaks so highly of them as if it is so easy to make money. Real money making requires work and never be classified as “easy” especially for newbies to Internet marketing.

    • Hey Pascal. Just following up here to see how things are going. It’s been about a year. I wrote this review over a year ago, and to this day there are still biased reviews promoting Project Payday. It’s still hard to find honest answers and info out there, and that to me is just unfortunate. People speak highly of them because they are involved in the scheme themselves. They have registered with PPD, got their affiliate link and have pasted in their review. This is so when people read their positive review, they will be enticed to click the link and the webmaster earns the commission for the lead. It’s crazy, but that’s how sleazy this niche really is. I wonder how you are doing nowadays.

  13. i looking to make money how do i , and what would you recommend

    • Hey Monroe.

I know of the best program that truly teaches the beginner about Internet marketing and how to make money online the legitimate way. All you have to do is click this link and it’s free to get started.

      Kind Regards,
      Vince
